Product Review – Tanworx Self Tan Range

Here at UK Beauty Online we like to keep on top of what’s hot in the beauty industry, which is why we jumped at the chance to review the new Tanworx Self Tan range.

Tanworx is the latest addition to the MONU Skincare range, and offers spray and self tan products. The products I tried were the Tanworx Self Tanning Lotion (Fair To Medium), the Tanworx Exfoliating Body Cream and the limited edition Tanworx Illuminating Moisturiser.

As all good tanners know, the best tans start with the preparation, and the Exfoliating Body Cream is an excellent option. It has a lovely subtle but slightly fruity scent which your clients are sure to enjoy. This comes from the walnut shell and papaya enzymes which offers a refreshing experience. The exfoliant is not too coarse, meaning that skin will feel smooth and gently polished rather than sandpapered.

This was followed by the Self Tanning Lotion itself. As someone with naturally olive skin, I often find that tanning lotion in the fair to medium spectrum does little to alter my skin tone, so I wasn’t expecting much. The lotion has a pleasant aroma that isn’t too strong but did linger well after the guide colour had been washed off. The lotion did dry quickly, which meant I was not left air drying for too long! After washing away the guide colour eight hours later I was pleasantly surprised by the results. There was certainly a noticeable tan that I hadn’t been expecting, although I would probably use a darker shade in future.

The light colour was natural looking and those of fairer skin than mine can rest assured that they will enjoy a healthy looking tan, rather than that ‘just had a month in Barbados’ look. The tan itself lasted a comfortable four to five days and anyone with a lighter skin tone may enjoy results for even longer.

For me, the real hero product was the Limited Edition Illuminating Moisturiser. This is new out this February and is sure to give your clients a real shot of glamour. Not only does it leave the skin feeling nourished, it also includes shimmering mica beads which give your skin a fantastic glimmer. My skin glowed and had a wonderfully luxurious shine to it. You will have to hurry to snap this one up as it is only available while stocks last.

Whether you offer these products as retail items or as part of a manual tan treatment in your salon, you are sure to have some very satisfied customers.
